JUNE’S THEME: PUPPY LOVE

Saturday was one of the happiest days of my life. For years I have aspired to have three things in my life that I’ve always, for some unknown reason, felt (rather irrationally, with no grounding whatsoever, and knowing full well that it is not the material things inline that count) will complete my life. The three seem a little disjointed perhaps and I’m not entirely sure where they came from but I’ve always had a strong pull towards owning: ♥ a coat stand; ♥ a piano; and ♥ a dog A bit bizarre I know. M bought me a coat stand for the first birthday I celebrated with him. It’s divine. A little bit Mary Poppins. I I’m yet to own a piano although I would love to play (this is probably of great relief to the neighbours as I am sure my skills will be somewhat below par!). And, on Saturday, we picked up our little dog, Gruffy. Inevitably, my word theme for this money is PUPPY. I absolutely love him. He’s a little …

F FOR EFFORT: SAY YES TO YOURSELF

Effort by its very definition is work. It might be enjoyable work but it is work. Sometimes it’s very easy, maybe so easy that it doesn’t even register. Sometimes it’s not. Sometimes it’s hard work. In April, my word theme was DECLUTTER and this month my word theme is EFFORT. So far I’ve been putting more effort into a host of things including getting up earlier, not putting off tasks, putting more time into my appearance and exercise. However, I know I am …

21 WAYS TO MAKE MORE OF AN EFFORT IN UNDER 10 MINUTES

Starting in the April just gone and for 12 months I am giving each month theme. This is a word that is going to be my focus for that month. My theme for May is EFFORT. This means, as part of my Happiness Project, I am making a concerted effort to make more of an effort in all aspects of my life. Sometimes there isn’t a lot of time for it to take poll position in my day. So I have compiled a list of quick ways to make more of an effort. They are all under 10 minutes so are very achievable. I’d love to know if you have any others: 1. Pay a compliment. This is so easy and will make someone’s day. Don’t just focus on appearance – is the person a good listener? Have they done something kind? 2. Wear lipstick – a slick of your favourite bright lipstick can catapult you you from drab to fab and if you’ve got a little more time (10mins13) try Lisa Eldridge’s Quick Modern Glam …
